The Intercultural Association of Michigan (IAM) was honored to host a Dialogue Iftar Dinner at the City of Portage Zhang Senior Center on March 14, 2026. The evening brought together a diverse group of attendees, including representatives from nonprofit organizations, faith communities, and local leaders, creating a warm, welcoming environment for meaningful connection.


This special event was held in collaboration with the Kaufman Interfaith Institute at Grand Valley State University, the Shoulder to Shoulder Campaign, the Reformed Church in America, and International Campus Ministry, with valued participation from additional community partners. Their collective engagement enriched the evening and reflected a shared commitment to dialogue and community building.


The gathering provided a space for individuals from different backgrounds to come together in the spirit of dialogue and shared humanity. Throughout the evening, IAM members shared reflections on the significance of Ramadan, highlighting its spiritual values of compassion, gratitude, and community.


This event served as a platform for open conversation, mutual understanding, and the strengthening of relationships across cultures and beliefs. It stands as a testament to IAM’s ongoing commitment to fostering inclusive dialogue, building bridges, and promoting peaceful coexistence within our communities.
